Nice tractor.

A Dutch tractor magazine did a series of tests a while back, on older tractors, looking at what the maintenance costs had been, common faults, etc and also how much there was left of the pto horsepower.

They tested a fair few tractors across the brand range, and included a 5140.

It was the only tractor in the test to have more power than what it left the factory with!

It had not been fiddled with, normal maintenance schedule, one owner from new, about 6000 hours on it.

It's a good tractor (my brother bought the actual tractor they tested) and only had a few minor niggles with the electric system.

The battery is not in a handy place, especially not with loader brackets but it looks like you've not got the cover on it anyway. I made some permanent "jump lead points" on my brothers for jump starting (-other vehicles).

Well done

Don't think the Mrs is getting owt for Christmas now though, already been out and bought a set of pallet tines, bucket, muck grab & last but not least a timber crane with rotar grab that goes on the 3 point linkage, so that's me slimy, lol!

Your not wrong there, we used to get ours from a mc cormick dealer when it was case/mc cormick, I'm sure you could get it from eithe but don't use crap in it, doesn't do the back end any good

Think you have to use that really expensive red coloured hydraulic oil to prevent the gaskets rotting.

Think it's called hytrans if remember right.
