Some things I've caught myself saying to the young uns They always look confused the first couple of times. It's the old take two steps then turnround and say what?

pass me the doofer (any gadget required for task in hand)

To the batmobile Roders (Go and stand by trailer at the back of the Ride on)

Go get me a knife and fork for this ( Spade and Fork) usually followed by that's a shovel !!!

I need a prayer mat (mat for weeding to ease the sare kneecaps)

Don't forget the javelin (pinch bar)

I used to have a Polish apprentice and was learning a few bits and bobs to make the day easier. Sometimes I come out with a zolte metroovka (not correct spelling) for a yellow tape measure, raises the odd eyebrow.

I like giving the wildlife names and said to my apprentice at the time it's your turn to name this little shrew, Louie he replies, Louie Sherew. I gave him a pat on the head.

I know my patters pish but keeps me ticking over. :001_smile:

I don't normally name my tools.. with the exception of 'gentle persuasion' for hammer.
