If you've damaged the finger in the past it can cause pain in cold weather. I cut my little finger badly a while ago, and in cold frosty weather it still throbs like mad.

Yes i get the same problem but with my ring finger , ive had to take my wedding ring off it got so swollen last week . I noticed it goes frozen and numb when inside a glove . I think it is circulation issue

White finger is a direct result of damage to the capillaries in your fingers, so it'll feel cold as well as painful. You should have the medic take a look- it can become quite debilitating!

I suffer the same problem, middle finger on left hand, little finger on right hand. Cut middle finger bad with a Stanley knife years ago and crushed and broke little finger in digger bucket hitch. And suffer from " White finger " as a result.gloves don't seem to make any difference.

Par for the course mate...so to speak.

My hands don't work sub zero anymore without the painful thaw out stage. I've kinda learned to work around it as plus 1 or 2 degrees above zero they're fine.
