I had a bloke ring up two weeks ago claiming to work for the police and be making a calendar to be displayed at police stations.

When I called him a scamming git and told him to go fourth and multiply he said some very unn policeman like things and hung up!!!!! lol:sneaky2:

Keep them on the line, say you are going to get a pen then crank up a 66 and rev the tits off it next to your phone.

That'll learn them.

As everyone has stated, they are only after your money, not interested if you are legit or not.

Another point - none of my contacts at schools have ever heard of them!

Worth bearing in mind that if you already advertise in phone book, YP, websites etc, they already have your contact details, so they only need an affirmative answer to confirm your details. The invoice is then sent out to you, and the ball starts rolling. Treat your phone as your front door, you wouldnt let a stranger in to your house, let the phone go to answer service, if its kosher, the caller will leave a message with full contact details, and you can vet your calls. Hope this helps anyone receiving such calls.:001_smile:

Be very carefull of 118 118. Ive had all those police fire service shools booklets phone and say id agreed to do it. When i asked them when, the lady said last november, i was a little confused because i wasnt self employed in november. 118 118 are the worst company i have ever dealt with. The pressure from the sales team was stagering. They ripped me off £800 with noe service, after many many letters and phone calls i got £400 back.

We havent had any that say we have agreed to any advertising but we've had plenty were they say something along the lines of "Hi this is such and such scaming services we spoke to you last month and you requested a return call since you were interested in giving us loads of your hard earned money and receiving nothing whatsoever in return!"

I fell for it loads of times:blushing:
