Hitch Hiker thread.

WorcsWuss, if you look closely at my HH and a photo earlier in the thread you'll notice a piece of black plastic on the bottom of the HH. I clip my stein tool biner onto that and my chest harness is a Lyon sling Fig8 across my shoulder.

My black piece of plastic is cut from some Cobra. DMc used a rubber horse shoe. Others are using a bit of stiffened cord. All works perfect or clip straight to the ring on the bridge.

just sat here and read the whole thread....

looking forward to getting one even more now......:thumbup1:

just one thing though i have thought about not sure if its been done before or even if it would be of any use but how about a DMM pinto spacer on the bina in betwen the 2 HH plates???? would this help in slack tending from limb walks? you would in fact be creating a small pulley?

just a thought

When I met with Paul at the Charlotte event last year, and he was showing his prototype HH, I did in fact lend him a DMM spacer to see how it worked at ground level. While the HH did descend with the spacer inserted, as Paul tried low and slow, I don't think it was that much different than the slack tending around the radius of the biner itself.

but it never interfered with its mechanisms?

its worth trying then if the above is ok!

I have been experimenting with this small metal piece as a clip-in point instead of the plastic strap. I do not have enough time on it to determine if it has any bad tendencies, but my initial impression is, it is a better way.
