yep,a ton of nearly seasoned birch is gonna be big volume compaared to most other hardwood

 

Yep, we had some go recently that was 9 months or so old and where the wagon usually gets thick end of 19/20T on it went out at 15 and a bit.

 

is vat 20% on fuel?

It's not fuel till it's cut into logs though, is it? End user pays 5% for the logs but processor pays 20%. - there's a thread all about it somewhere

As I understand it, if you are selling it as wood "fuel" which it seems you are, its only 5% vat. That price is unbelievable, down this way hardwood roundwood is going down in price, not up. 6 month old birch roundwood going for approx £35/t roadside max.

I would not buy it without one, otherwise how do you know what you are getting.

I get the load over the weigh bridge at a local spud farm but i use the same guy all the time so it works both ways.

I have not bought any in for over twelve months as i have packed in doing the logs.

 

The last load i did buy in was mixed hardwood, processor size. It was felled 6 months before i bought it.

 

That cost me £40/tonne delivered.
