delivering logs in barrow bags/backache

The bags may be a pain in the 4rse (or back) but they are great for customers that don't want a large quantity in one go.

Ether because of lack of space or lack of money.

I have found that I can sell more firewood as smaller loads than larger ones.

But everyone is different. Horses for courses, whatever your market is.

I use a trailer with a loading ramp and a sack truck with pnuenatic tyres, my barrow bags are also .2 cube Bag Supplies ones. Works ok. Most of my deliveries are 1 cube bags on pallets, use a pump truck with these having loaded with a teleporter.

If its as issue then I use a Lectruck to deliver stoves, these are strapped on and are good for 300 kg. That would move any barrow bag but the wheels are solid, so grass and gravel are a no no without the additional floatation tyre device for it to sit on. Also they expensive, 6k +.

little lucas swing lift on the corner. About £150 on ebay used or look for a powered sack truck or fit a taillift. see a cheap one this week cant remember where may have been ebay. May have been on a cheap vehicle some where, take off weigh in truck type thing.

Swing lift is the way to go. i had one on my Cabstar.....£150 sounds like a good buy, thats about what i paid for mine.....But not sure you'd get one for that money atm.

Are half-size barrow bags available? Might be a better bet when my current ones fall apart (glad i'm not lifting them into a landrover/pickup though it has to be said).

Think there's ones half the size with wee handles at each corner. Hefting about 50k's no worries compared to the Big Uns. Can't remember where I saw them though, will look

Never used one of these but doesnt look like it'd lift the bags high enough to get them over the sides of my trailer, can they be used to winch bags up the ramp? Is it practical to fit one to the a-frame so it doesnt take up space on the trailer or would this not be road-legal?

If you drag the bags they will wear through the bottom pretty fast.
