I have used a twin barrel foot pump with a football adapter before, seems to work well enough for me and its easy enough to keep in the van for blowing out air filters as and when needed

I take all the plastic bits off the saw and put them in an old dustbin full of really hot water and washing powder, leave them to soak for about two days then clean them up with a hard bristle brush.they come up like new.:thumbup1:

I use a compressor. They are farely cheap to buy now tbh. Places like Aldi and ldle sell them all the time cheap. That and used with a carb cleaner works a real treat.

Just be carefull when blowing into the chain cover area. And unde the pull start assembly. I've spent plenty of time spitting bits of crud out of my mouth before.:laugh1:

Spend all week analy looking after £100,000 gensets. When I go out to play logs with horrible 2 stroke things I use them till they stop then chuck them in the corner of the workshop till theres a big pile then sort them out in one go. the air filters not blocked till it pushes the cover off. I would in no way recommend this behaviour on nice saws. I tend to buy trade ins at the dealer for £150 then when dead after 5 years go and buy another. works for me

I clean the air filter and some build up of crud in the brake cover, the rest ...never ever, and some I've had for 10plus years, why clean a chainsaw like a car?, (just curious)
