Used mine today on a. BiG ASH and it rocks! Stonking saw! My mate now wants one, preferred it to his 372. I also use the chain brake but only when the saw stops, can't see why you would want to apply the brake at full revs?

 

Had 2 brakes in 6 years including the original.

I hate it when people slam it on going full revs,does my tits in.Just let in slow down then put it on!.

 

I ain't no armature, I put the chain brake on when needed, I don't rev the tits off and slap the brake on and I keep it cleaned out.:)

I'm with Hodge on this , i've replaced one brakeband in 10 years but looks like mines gone on the 550 . i'm very careful with saws and never abuse them .

 

I spoke with a chap in husky technical dept and they know there is a problem with the chain brake and the have been trying to solve it which they now have.....allegedly.;)
