I've been using windows 8 on the desktop. You get the screen with tiles and half of them don't work. The rest is just windows 7. It took them years to design a screen??!!

iPad is still better. Encased in a lifeproof case, it's waterproof / bombproof.

I recently bought a new lappy with windows 8, biggest load of hateful crap ever.

It can only be worse on the mobile tablet version.

 

I have an ipad and its great. I love the simplicity of it. I am not used to itunes which you must have installed on ur pc/mac to use an apple products (ipad/iphone/touch) which is a shame it wont work "out of the box" and is unnecessary.

 

I will not be buying a windows version tablet... It will be plagued by viruses before the thing has even booted properly first time!!

My Macbook Air is still working faultlessly had it over 2 years now, just bought the Mrs one for xmas, never again will I waste money on Microsoft garbage.

It does work out of the box. My kids ipads have never been plugged into a computer.

The tile stuff on windows 8 can be removed to make it look like Windows 7. You need to disable Windows Metro, but I can't quite remember how to do it (my brother did it on his laptop but I myself only have a laptop with vista on it)

i'm going to the states in easter for a couple of week, might need to invest in a mac laptop as I don't have a laptop anymore. Was looking at macbook pro's and macbook airs today
