From today, peter fox doing his thing.

I scored nil today as my felling tree got hung up so I timed out. Shame as the cuts were pretty good and I had to bar and a half my tree. (Brought a small bar by mistake). Good fun and really interesting trying to make the perfect cut. ImageUploadedByArbtalk1440279148.444115.jpg.40a4089967edcfc6e6d8605698963737.jpg

I can't remember the guy doing the bar a chain but hell he was quick.

So the last few pics of the weekend. Probably the hardest competition ive ever done. (before anyone asks.... ive done UKTCC, 3ATC, Cutters and Climbers and most levels of pole climbing). I started today off at 0 due to the fell getting hung up and myself timing out because of it. Through nerves i accidently put the bar back on the way it came off and gained a -50 points, wiping out my points i had. Combi and precision cuts i actually did alright. Then finally the limbing pole...... well..... i got 334 points and penalty points of 340 so ended up last place with 217. But im super happy with that as ive never done it before and hopefully next time should be a lot better.

Well done for having a go anyway, and thanks for sharing the pics, I've seen these competitions on you tube.

In the age of machine harvesting however I think these skills might go the way of log rolling and axe work.

Yeah true, I think there will always be a need but like other things technological advances take over. It's was really jaw dropping seeing how good everyone is and the cross cut having to produce two matching cuts at a parallel to the log, which is at an angle, twice was just crazy skills to see in the flesh. Oh and for those wondering I did the bar and chain change in 1 minute 22 seconds with a bog standard 390.
