I did. Worked under my dads company for 12 months but a contract didn't come off that we were almost hoping for. Just didn't have enough tree work to justify much kit so it never went too far. I work as a supervisor for another firm now. Based on grounds maintenance but now have 3 tree teams which I supervise.

Nice one Rob, at least you get a regular income, which helps. :)

Job in Salford today. Road closure. Getting the trees off the top of the wall. 4 of us on site from 7-5. Engineering company came in with a 40t crane to lift some coping stones that a silver birch had lifted from growing under it. Turns out they couldn't lift it. Sandstone wouldn't anchor their lifting plate properly. Bit of a shambles on their part!

Our part went well. Landy full of chip around 3-4 cube. Transit of logs. Then tractor trailer 3/4 chip and 1/4 logs and rakings.

Had plenty drama with pedestrians calling us some colourful names because we stopped them walking under a crane and through a work site.

Interesting job rob. Vegetation removed because of risk?

Mainly. Silver birch had started to lift a large stone on top of the wall which was part of the initial enquiry, but there wasn't much rooting space so it was matter of time really before a tree or the wall gave up so they all got the chop.

Thought that was why. Same reasons we removed a load of sycamores off the embankment at norwich castle.
