Big Monterey pine today didnt get started til bout half 9 so didnt get it finished. Phone lines beneath made it a bit tricky but grand. You can see me up the top.Fell the remaining stem in a couple of bits in the morning and start the next one!

Yeah 115ft measured at. Down at bedgebury Pinetum got some mega trees down there. One across the bank was 51m tall, apparently tallest tree in Kent. Got some go pro footage just trying to work out how to edit it!

You boys are getting in to Reg country with your connies Jay and Breffini!

Bedgebury is a pretty good place Jay, ay?

That tallest tree is a grand fir 'The Old Man of Kent'. You can't get a great view of it like.

For me an urban lime like that is better off hatracked, no point mucking around going back to live growth, it's going to throw out like a nutter whatever you do.

if "hat racked" offends people substitute "late high pollard cycle commencement" or something

I know it will grow back to that size in no time but personally I hate pollarding and only do it as a last resort.

Yeah lovely place to work, hopefully more work to come as well. Yeah i could see the old man of kent from the tree I was in across the pinetum, was about 400 yards away. When I got down I went and had a look at it. They reckon 51 metres tall, still looks small compared to the stuff that Reg puts up! If we get a bit of downtime there hopefully I might be able to zip up it but apparently theres a hornets nest to step over half way up!

Got quite a bit of helmet cam footage but can't work out how to do it!

Think this is the old man of kent from the top of my tree
