I know you’ve sent decent stuff offsite for milling before.

No interest in logs?

It’s not a real earner for me, but useful for filling gaps in the winter/foul weather.

Too many farmers and others with top quality splitters/processers/packers who own chestnut woodlands to even contemplate doing firewood.
In the same vein high technology sawmills everywhere turning out tonnes of building lumber.

I have specialised in what I do.
I believe it’s been a good decision.

Although youre sitting on a few thousand Euros which probably equates to 3.2 billion bottles of French wine arent you just a bit gutted that you could have had a proper big fck off bonfire?

BTW, a really nice bit of land you have there.

Yes, a bonfire would be ideal.
I’ll always be stuck with an area of brambles and rotten wood.
They seem to have abandoned chipping now it’s not economical.
When we sell the place in a few years it’ll undoubtedly be a minus to prospective buyers.

Just run a mulcher through it and throw a bit of grass seed down at that point, it’ll be a flat field within a fortnight.

Anyway ended up getting €2380 for that waste wood that they chipped up.
Which is nice.

nice touch that.

im not big into the timber and chip sales but i reckon that i probably make 20k a year out of timber and chip out of my yard which covers my yard rent then gives me a bit of walking around money from time to time
