Lovely view from the driveway across the estuary as well 😁

Wouldn’t be without it - these skinny birch’s won’t take the weight of the climber so easy to go round them with Fiskars loppers 👍

What was the brief on the birches? What does that prune achieve?

It’s very common in France to plant 3 birch in a triangle as little as a mètre apart.

The grow away from each other, rarely even a crossing branch.

Ripping out this rank hedge.

 

Machine feeding a big chipper would have been nice, but hey ho.

 

Past the half way point, approx 20m3 of chip so far.
