Well today was a bit of a test, went off Rd with truck and loaded with some 3.7 spruce and ceder saw logs, got down of my seat and truck had sunk a good bit,, thought oh shit we are unloading now ?

A couple of wk ago I had a afternoon sorting the diff lock out that is air activated and probably not been used for 20yrs, so today just pushed button in,  light on dash came on showing all 4 wheels locked together, engaged bottom gear and just drove out with no issues, made some big ruts though, pulled down on to hard standing and strapped up and back to yard, think I might be on power washer tomorrow,,

That’s such a cool truck!

Tree shear and mulching an access track for a comms tower yesterday as there were complaints about wing mirrors.  They’ll not need to worry about that for a few years now.

Had a small job, couple of skinny ash trees. After quoting I realised the larger, that I'd be anchoring on, had a lot of vertical splits in the bark and sign of white hyphae. No limbs low down but the top has buds all over. Possible dieback? None of them looked great but this was the only one with the splits.

Please give your opinions, how safe is this to climb?

I would have been happy climbing it to the V but not happy going much higher. I considered the tops a bit too large to control or rope on this stem, and with the phone lines, and a low roof, too much risk. Called in an experienced friend and he had it done in a couple hours.

From there I felled it and cleaned up the road. Its empty land at the moment so there was no need to log up or take it away.

Today I'm at home using the printer. I had an idea for a climbers scrench for adjusting chains. Works well but going to redesign it a bit. Its strong enough but the handle wants to be bigger.IMG_20251128_171805.thumb.jpg.3aef75d14ad207c8e93ffb86fbee3243.jpg

Also printing some durable chain storage boxes. Having them loose is becoming a pain.
