Particularly fine run of pics recently. Well done lads.

My poplargeddon job finally came to an end.

Had to get these trunks up a hill to the car parking area for removal by a timber lorry.

The turf tyres on the Kubota would not get a purchase, so we had to winch these sections halfway, then drive up the top to get them the rest of the way.

The winch moaned and squealed a bit but we did it.

Drove home with the cheque.

Is there much of a market for poplar in france mick?

I think I've heard it all now.

Command and conquer, tamed the beast!

He's knocked some trees over and struggled to pull them out (no disrespect Dempsey)

Oh come on it was a tongue n cheek comment. Dempsey called the job Poplargeddon himself. It's satisfying finishing a big job. Especially when things go well.

Just the way it is I guess.

There are other standards.

The standing on the stump shot.

You can also go for the "standing with arm round the fallen beast" shot.

Ill try and think of some others....

It gets taken away in 2.5 mtr lengths, for pallet production I think.

I was just happy to get rid, didn't get paid for the butts.

The standing on the stump (with a big saw) shot is a classic......

I'm thinking about getting a few shots next time I'm using a Jack Hammer.

Big game trophy shots I call them , like a Victorian hunter posing over a magnificently beautiful piece of nature that you have just killed and feeling proud and manly you have just tamed the beast ,tragic really .. You must have a few piles of rubble you have been proud of creating eggs ? ImageUploadedByArbtalk1485365837.824376.jpg.c78c09a517b83d8fddebc9f9ccbe9172.jpg
