beautiful oak john.

Fell and stack timber today. 3 robinias felled and this macrocarpa. I was going to strip it out but just felled it with millimetres to spare from the fence. Only needed 3 wedges to topple her.

Dead wooding again in a graveyard today and yesterday. Dirty rotten roadside ash tree with dieback to make safe and tidy and then a few pines and a nice maple in the afternoon.

Was on a first aid course today so was expecting an easy day. We had a call to deal with this. Interesting end to the day.

There's some video on Facebook, but I can't lift them off!

Wow looks like a Go ape course was anyone on it when it went over?

Yeah it was go ape. It wasn't in use when the tree went over, good thing really. I left the site manger up a tree with a torch inspecting it to see if he could open tomorrow.

In the end I dominoed 4 trees then severed the stump. Was good fun.

Helped a mate deal with this rather large beech this morning, it failed on Wednesday after the heavy rain we had! Nothing to remove from site as the customer wanted it all for firewood 👍 (bout 10 yrs worth!)ImageUploadedByArbtalk1457796197.149935.jpg.eefc59568e25c39b0313bfbc7932f54a.jpg

Stacking the last of timber on a 250ton felling job today, last tree the lads had left to stunt fell without destroying the old explosives house on the section we had to clear for a new power line going in next week.

Had to dig a few extraction tracks to make things easier when we get round to hauling it out once things dry up a bit more.
