I believe the link was just to illustrate that the arb association definition of drop crotching is different to yours... and I think that was well worth pointing out. I dont think your methodology and justification are in question... just your terminology:001_smile:

 

 

 

Yeah in hindsight maybe I should of said i smashed the top out to start a retrenchment pruning program (if we ever go back as a lot of the time they leave it because they cannot be bothered to spend more money.)

Well Ian I think just taking the time to save an old tree like that and to try and keep it with us for years to come is good enough.

Well done for putting in the effort and not just removing it.

Back out with the beasty grinder today, this thing just can clear stumps quickly, last stump of the day was a redwood I'd cut down a few months back. From engaging the head to switching it off again on a 28" stump as deep as machine would work too less than 7min!
