Problems with Rowans

Has anyone else noticed a decline in Rowans this year, i have taken out 6 semi mature trees for separate customers recently. Each one has shown signs of crown die back, in some cases alot of die back. No sign of fruiting bodies but there is signs of fungi inside the timber. Has it just been a good year for fungi and a bad year for Rowans. Any ideas? Sorry no photos forgot about the wonders of Arb talk.

All the rowans I've noticed in decline have been on wet ground, they don't like clay or poorly drained ground

Ha funny, I was discussing this with a customer today, Rowans normally do very well up here on Dartmoor, but I have noticed alot of sickly Rowans, Just that too, 1 foot of wet peat then granite subsoil so probably a lot of waterlogging.
