Just wanted to say 'Thank you very much' to Steve and everybody involved in Arbtalk after I landed this week what I hope will be a great job for me. I came into this business after being made redundant from my previous (completely unrelated) career because I have a love of the outdoors and have always enjoyed physical work and chainsaws . For the past few years, I have been getting by as a free-lance groundie with the help of some people on here who have become good friends. I haven't starved (as those who know me will confirm! :001_tongue:) but I won't deny it has been hard going and at times I came dangerously close to doing something else. In September, I will start running the grounds maintainance team for a Pharmaceuticals firm with several sites, including factories and country properties. I will be earning pretty much what I earned before I was made redundant, will be able to take holidays again and I get a shiny new truck into the bargain. It's a Monday to Friday job so I can still work Saturdays as 'the Thinking Arb's groundie' .I got offered the job after running the team on a part-time basis following my thread advertising myself on here being seen by the guy that I will be working alongside. Thanks again Arbtalk! :thumbup1:
