Rob, that looks very neat and tucked away:thumbup1:

A few minutes more and it'll be ready to use in anger then:thumbup:

Yeah I thought I had it but it wasnt quite properly lined up so when it was bolted its sat a bit higher. Just need half an hour to trim the metal off underneath and it'll be grand then!

YES!

At present I'm getting between 18 and 23 mpg from my td5. My V8 averages around 15.

I do have a gas kit for the v8 but never even been a requirement tbh. That said, fitted it would way outpay a diesel.

Then of course, there is THAT noise, must be worth sacrificing a few dinosours:thumbup:

Agree - If money was no object I'd take a V8 any day just to hear it purr!!

Although I had to really wind up my 3.5 when towing compared with the 200 Tdi but I'm not convinced my 3.5 was in the best condition!

A Tdv6 or Tdv8 in a defender would be interesting....:001_smile:

Tdv6 has been done in a disco 1. That sure seemed impressive. Tdv8 would be even more awesome.

I was working with a guy about a month ago who had a tdv6 in a 90 van. He bought it new in 2010 and got bored of the motor so had the transplant done by a specialist and chipped it, plus bigger cooler etc and it came out at 340bhp.

It did blow two gearboxes in six months though:001_rolleyes:

I love to see a tdv8 in a Defender

I've seen the Bell auto services defender with tdv6. Think it was mated to the 6 speed Disco manual gearbox - not sure how the rest of the running gear will fair?!!

Think the biggested headache they had with the ECU and getting it to accept it was in a different vehicle without all the Disco electrics:confused1:

Bloody hell, bet that pulled well!!!!

Not surprised it chewed up a few gearboxes - about 120ish bhp to 340 bhp!!!

Don't suppose you got any pics of it?
