Thanks Steve.Went out with my Son last night and slowly watched him get intoxicated in front of my eyes.He got louder...kept repeating himself and by the end of the night had completely lost the plot.It was very comical but a great incentive to continue on the wagon for another six months...I feel quite amazing...Super fit and i was up early with the dog and able to enjoy Sunday to the full.

I stoped for 3 months 8 years ago haven't touched a drop since it just becomes something you don't even think about after a while u defiantly become some what of a social outcast or may be it's just that being around drunk people becomes slowly less and less appealing which ever it is I definitely see less of some friends but I enjoy the times I do see them cos they aren't drunk good for you mate enjoy your life to the full !!

Well done Paul trust me you won't miss it and it won't be long before the thought of a drink turns you gut. It's eight years for me and yep I've had the odd shandy just to shut people up but it tasted sh***

I think it's all about will power and personality...a lot of people I know use drink as a personality builder and to gain confidence...which is fine if you can control it..I really think it's a bit odd to give up something that you really injoyed having and to stop altogether..I know everyone is different but I will never understand why someone has to get completely off there head when they have a drink and not even remember what they did..my dad was a drunk and there is nothing worse then seeing your dad talking bollocks, slapping your mom about and all the crap what go's with a grown man being drunk. I wouldn't say it had an effect on me cause I like a drink but I know my limits and perhaps I,am lucky and can stop at 4 or 5 pints then go on water, strange but that's how I have always been and I wouldn't For on minute try and imagine what it must like not to be able to stop when you need to.bit heavy and I don't want to open up a can of worms about drink..just wanted to say that a little bit of what you like and or fancy is ok..life has to be about having things you like....???

Well said :thumbup1:

We are here for a "good time" not a "long time".

If it makes you happy and adds to your life great, if not pack it in :001_smile:
