I dismantled a sugar maple in the summer. The guy I climbed for wanted it in as big a lumps as possible. He hired a Manitou to get the sticks on the back of the 7.5 tonner. He did two trips with timber alone. Not quite sure what he was to do with it but they were in a right mess after they were skidded out.

 

As was the customers garden.

Just spoken to Andy (Wadkin on here) whose knowledge I have to say is very extensive (compared to mine and rate!).

 

 

Maple is quite easy to buy - spaulted stuff is worth having - but this means burying the stick in leaf litter for 1 to 2 years to get the proper black line spaulting.

 

 

So prob just best to log him!

It's getting buried then Rob:thumbup: loved evey moment climbing for Burchy! So grateful that someone could photograph me for a change:) i do love my job...and this was my last travelling Arb adventure:( but i will keep travelling....but for social events this time!!!!:D:beer::D

No OMTC....The Fox is still unemployed. I am just exhausted,not from work,but from travelling. I carry well over 60 kilos of kit every where i travel...many miles on bicycle on foot and on public transport... i just want to work close to my home in Kew...i am 45 and a grandfather! i will do what i can until Xmas then move back to the North East and home to my Grandson.....unless someone makes me an Offer?:001_smile: (within Cycling distance of Kew) and that suits my age and experience...
