Hi, I have a warranty list as long as your arm which is being done in the new year, fortunately they give me a disco 3 with a towbar when it goes in for repair, though they will not be happy when it goes back stinking of fuel, oil and wood chip.

Does anybody else have a problem with theirs only firing on three cylinders for abou 10 seconds after a cold start up (2.4 TDCI)? Cheers. Jonathan

Quick question for Landrover owners -

Why did Landrover put a 2.4 Transit engine into the Defender(a work vehicle) when they've put a 3 litre V6 into the Discovery(SUV)? Why didn't the Defender get the same engine?

I think it has something to do with the marketing structure. A defender with that sort of engine would be amazing but would also directly compete with the discovery. It happened before when the tdis were in discovery/defenders as the discovery engine was down as more powerful than the defender one.

Otherwise there may have been logistical problems in terms of fitting it and the TDV6 is fitted to a number of other vehicles and I think there was a shortage when the discovery was released.
