When my missis was designing electrics for Saddam Hussains palace we were offered free holiday in Beiruit by Iraqi secret service

 

As Terry Wait etc had just been kidnapped we turned it down - didn't think anyone would believe us if we were kidnapped

 

 

I spent quite a bit of time in the palace 04/05, previous owner wasn't at home at the time and there was some degree of "light redecoration" but the pool was still available!

Being given an electric log splitter which wasn't great but another customer gave me a long handled echo hedgetrimmer, all that was missing was the choke switch

not exactly a customer freebee but i went to buy some timber from a fella who imports it and as he is in the process of retiring he gave it to me. so ended up with a bout 5-6 ft3 of mahogany for nout.

Strangest thing I was ever given by a customer was a Perspex upper gunner turret from a late 40's British bomber. It made a brilliant cold frame!

Doing the HOA removals for the Lake Arrowhead shoreline properties, one of the owners gave me a CD of his new client, a rock band. He was a record producer.
