Ladders & platforms | F R Jones and Son

These tripod ladders any good, looking at the 4.8m one and 1.8m one.

Is the 4.8m one abit over kill?

Cheers

Yep a landscaper/ gardener mate uses one . Its way better than our ordinary big step ladder . Much more stable and stupidly light ! Sometimes he gives us work he can't do and if it involves tall hedges we ponce his ladder !

looked at them at the show on friday. they look very well made but i found when you climbed them you really have to lean forward as it tipped back.suppose it's something you would get used to do. would be great for hedge trimming because you can put the single leg in the hedge

you can shorten the single leg if you need to.

i use the 4.8 metre one, it,s very stable. quite wide at the base(6feet approx)

sometimes a bit awkward to manouver around shrubs etc. 3.7 metre version probably handier if you can do without the extra height

Adjust the front leg and that won't happen.

We use the 3.6m one. Definitely would NOT be without it. It has made a massive difference to us for hedges and other pruning work. It's brilliant having a ladder that is stable on all sorts of ground. The legs adjust sufficiently to be able to use it on rockeries, sloping ground, one part of the ladder on the lawn and another in a border or on a raised bed etc etc. And so light and easy to move around.
