well i'd got soaked this morning sorting out for this weekend, making sure the missus could cope, the kids were looked after, unpacked the tent, sleeping bag and camping things which i am now putting all back again...

at least i can now watch the F1 and tennis live from the comfort of my own armchair:001_rolleyes:

hope it gets re-organised soon at some point, i presume a LOT of effort had gone into the prep for this weekend, more than wha i did anyway:lol:

We should just carried on regardless, stiff upper lip an all that, show the southerners how its done:biggrin:

Thanks for all the understanding posts chaps, I left Coventry at 3pm, ended up having to hire a car as brava gearbox has just gone, bad start to the day. Hit sheffield and AA techie rang to say turn around, go home its a washout, didnt think would be as bad as in the pics.

From phone calls made on the way home, the whole teams gutted.... From everybody at the AA and AWG, although this could not be helped, may we just apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused, and we'l keep you posted as to what the next move is.

Primarily the site needs to be dealt with and secured etc, so may be the middle of next week before decisions are made.

Thanks for understanding and your patience.

Kind regards,

Jaime Bray AWG chair.

Im sorry to hear that you have had to put arbfest off till a later date after all the work that will have gone into organising it but this set back might give me a chance of attending as had family comitments that stopped me this wend.

It would be a shame if it did get taken to jonesie as us northeners find it costly to do all thet travaling, keep us all posted on any outcome.

Guys, REALLY sorry to everyone affected but basically we couldn't even set the event up, let alone welcome you and host the presentations doing justice to the presenters.

The main marque become flooded, and I mean flooded as a quagmire, as we attempted to set up and the lighting engineers and generator contractors were getting stuck in the mud trying to access the site...'unbelieveable!'

On behalf of my colleagues here at the AA again I do sincerely apologies for any, and all, inconvenience caused and it was a decision taken with a very, very heavy heart!

PLEASE watch this space for further updates and I so look forward to meeting with you in the near future.

Off to dry out...cheers all.

Paul
