I've used a couple of Dakine ones for years - for work, for holidays, for skiing, for motorcycling (road, lanes, enduro) for cycling. Absolutely top quality, comfortable and never had one fall apart on me.

Just going off on a tangent, but do you specifically want to carry everything, or would a hand cart or converted golf cart be an option. Gives the possibility of taking other gear that might be useful in some areas?

Try army surplus shops.

Try an online army surplus store. I bought my day sack from one with detachable side pockets. Tough and pretty cheap.

the term "footpath" is a loose description - these are mostly mountain routes & we sometimes end up shouldering the clearing saws for miles .we have talked about this for years - ideas about trails bikes , donkeys ect.but a rucksac is the best - leaving your hand free
