It's funny how the people who usually moan about free speech and getting their posts are generally posting under pseudonyms.

Just saying :001_rolleyes:

Wooah there, we are chainsaw dragging apes, please don't post long words that are hard to understand.

You haven't, I'm not looking for a job.

I maybe think companies should be doing more , like better pay for employees, to benefit probably the industry as a whole in the long term. Yes supply and demand I know and the arguments a bit of a plate of spaghetti. And I don't like getting posts wiped

Trouble is , if an employer ups his employees wages he has to up his prices which could mean he cant compete price wise against the opposition,as for your post being cancelled you must of been in the wrong (against the rules), i had one of my posts cancelled for swearing, fair enough i learnt a lesson and watched what i typed in future.

If EVERYONE (including the nomadic loppers/out of work builders/gardeners/etc) refused to work as a team of 3 for less than £1000 a day then at some point the new rate would be accepted as tree work is necessary. However there will always be someone who would be willing to do it for £500 (for example) so that is the going rate.

Unfortunately, I think this will always be the case as well

I'm not having a moan about my pay getting from tree work, I'm not employed and not looking to be, I do ok from it. Yep, got freedom of choice, and freedom of speech too.? If you want to put up and shut up that's up to you.

I was keeping out of this, but I feel you have missed the point!

Starting a thread like this is acceptable when its put up for open discussion, whereas, I personally feel there is a problem when someone starts a thread offering work and plenty of folk jump in to criticize the terms offered, and yet are not in the market themselves.

Perhaps in future if people dont agree with the state of the industry, a thread should be started, not totally derail the good will of the individual opportunities being offered to those looking for work
