would you not be better off sourcing a good used engine from an 1824 merc truck? after all, the truck engine is already running at the higher power rating from the factory/

 

Would one go straight in?

some 1824 are V6, some are the OM366 as per mog's

Thanks Mark, I knew that there was the occasional downrated V6 240hp about, but the later OM366A would be fine?

 

Dave, apart from a few ancillary placements, the engines are identical.

Oh shoot Dave so sorry to hear this, i know exactly what this will cost you and it isn't pretty.

 

Hope things work out quickly for you as downtime is the biggest killer when this happens.

 

I suppose in some ways it's the best time for something like this to happen as you were probably about to have time off anyway.

 

Is Alex re-building the engine or are you looking for a replacement ?

This is an excellent oportunuity to completely change your M -O.

 

Refit the MOG, and turn it into a MEWP. Wha Hey, Bobs your uncle

 

Down size a little, get shot of the timber trailer and chipper,

then just get Ed or Matt in to disappear the arrisings.

Bad news Dave at this time of year especially, looks like the kids are going to have to go short this Christmas, Monkeyd may have a few stocking fillers to ease the dissapointment for them.
