Knew Wes would have had a few of these Macs:thumbup:

Here is the massive muffler that they fitted on these saws in the day, just got to understand why it kicks out sparks and flames and sounds like thunder in bowels of hell:lol:

Luv it Spud watch your lawn with this one

Wes should be the man with the answers There where some of these 1-40's and upwards that used the kart engine and vice versa :thumbup:

Hardly prime era, but here's my Italian Mac. 70cc. Runs brilliantly; I use it fairly regularly.

Mcculloch Titan 70.

They are pretty good machines TBH, a tad heavy but well put together, vertically split alloy crankcases and a flat bottomed cylinder. It sort of all went downhill from there!

Got one to refurb next week:thumbup:

Had mine for 25 plus years, use it occasionally for the dirty jobs that I don't want to use Stihls on. Got it out the other day to drop a trunk that was so rotten it was drawing soil through its centre. Haven't used the saw for a good 10 months and the beaut started first time.

Only ones I know with full blown kart engines as standard were the 101 series. The 125s occasionally had hopped up options.

nice one wes how many have you got tucked away :thumbup:

here is a cart from copperhead racing collections

Here is one I had on the bench recently, from the 1980s model 935 so a massive 35cc engine. This one has reed valves so good on torque but bad for top end revs. it tops out at a lowly 11Krpm but does have a decent amount of go for a relatively tiny saw.

The saw was pretty good, the owner wanted a complete rebuild but the only real issue was the cylinder base gasket was blown and leaking but the rest was pretty good TBH.
