You're doing something wrong there. I've used WordPress with no ads and can change tags even on the free basic templates that come pre installed. It's a free open source program...

When was the last time you used wordpress? Things have changed and they now have 3 package levels with the 'business' package costing £200 per year... this is the one that would remove ads from the blog and allow the extra customisation.

Nope its still free. I think you've got it elsewhere which charges perhaps. Last played about with it a few months ago and could install it from the control panel on my server

You dont need to pay for wordpress, are you sure you arent paying for a theme?

You will need to pay for hosting which you can get pretty cheap from heart internet or similar - would reccomend heart.

Morning arbtalk... I have been working on my website http://www.peterharttreeservices.co.uk lately and thought I might post a link on this thread for some extra traffic but more importantly some constructive feedback.

 

As a side note does anybody pay for the premium wordpress package? My thoughts for doing this are that it removes adverts from your site and blog and apparently allows you to customise the META tags for your site.

You are so right Eggs, just looked at it on my phone which is something I seldom do, and that slideshow banner is not mobile friendly, despite my web designer promising me it would be.
