Strangest thing you have found under tree stumps

We had a machine take a stump out and the root plate had a glass chamber pot in it. Found a nest of live 88mm shells in a hedge in East Germany.

A tupperware box full of geocaching stuff. This was around about 2000 ish and I had no idea what geocaching was - it was just a box full of bizarre random stuff until I found a little note inside explaing its purpose.

A copper cask with a bloke called Donald Baines ashes in it.

No need for the bomb squad by the looks of that.

piece of steel cable about 1.5 inches diameter and 2 foot long in a sycamore stump. had to give up on that one.

Nope it was in the garden of a bungalow,at first I thought it was a junction box for cables or a motor cycle battery. called the owners over and they gave the all clear so ground around it and dug it out to find the blokes name date of birth and death.

 

Used to maintain the trees in a garden or rememberance at a crem, ground human ashes whilst doing stumps but didnt bother me.

 

Also had a stainless steel shopping basket in a hazel stand, countless scaffold clamps, a phone line, horse shoes even the steel bands from the old horse carts most things really even the odd coin
