I've finally decided to pull the Yellow pages advert.

It's been on the cards for 2 years, but I've continued to maintain a presence in the book for fear of being left out.

I suggest that if everybody pulls their ads, we'll all save a lot of money and won't be competing with each other any more!

good idea eh?

(and yes they've pissed me off again this year by not delivering their promises)

I pulled out last year, haven't missed it at all. I'm chuffed because I despised Yell and hated giving them my hard earned!! You won't look back, wise decision

binned yellow pages and yell.com 2 yrs ago and never looked back...

crap leads you will find your quoting against 3 to 10 others on each job which is fine if you are the cheapest but waste of time otherwise.

rant over as you guessed they peeed me off too.

I also pulled out this year, last year they promised major improvements, but if anything response got worse not better. I had 2 adds in each, one for stoves and another for cookers. Spent 6k ish over 2 years, got almost nothing back.

Stopped advertising with yellow pages about 6/7 years ago. Put the money into a website. Get far more commercial business hits from the website than we ever did thru yell. Don't miss the "can you give me a price over the phone" or "we,re just waiting for another 5 quotes to come in before we decide" type customers. good move on your behalf, keep the faith and use the money to promote yourself elsewhere.
