i set off to work this morning at 4am. i was subbing for a company on the railway in Machynlleth, supposed to be 2 or 3 days work. Got there after 31/2 hours driving sat in my van for another 3 hours. had to sit through a site induction, did an hours work and got told thats all they had for me. fu(ked now but at least i can take it easy for a few days.

had some nice storm damage come in££££ nothing like some good winds to bring in some decent work....got two take downs and one clear up in all 4 days work out of just one job:151:

My day today has been painful. I was cutting a 6" thick 30' willow branch under tension. When it came free it shot into my kneecap. I thought for a second I'd broken something but walked (hobbled) away after a minute impersonating an Italian footballer. Had to fight the tears a bit. Its easily done and a whacking reminder of the risks involved in what we do. Won't be climbing or much else tomorrow. Plenty of ice on it now and in my vodka.

Todays work was cancelled. Means I have enough time to sharpen and fix saws, look at work and rewire the lights on the chipper. Ain't spare time fun!
