I stopped listening to new bands around the mid 80's. It's got worse from there and is now pretty much pointless as far as I can see. I'm sure there are a good few talented bands around but I can't be bothered. So much from the 70's which I keep finding. Real bands with real sideburns and real guitars.

Nina Simone's Sinnerman is probably the best song ever in my book. I'll listen to it at least one a week. The good music is still out there, I'm more into the acoustic, slow, bearded music, and there is still lots kicking about and turning up, and I'm 18

i'm 25 but my music taste is alot older. i like rock/folk/blues from 60's/70's. led zeppelin, rolling stones, rory gallagher, jefferson airplane, grateful dead, big brother and the holding company etc etc.

i was in morrisons the other week and happened to look at the 'top 40' cd singles. there was only ONE band out of 40 (as in people who write and play all their own songs). the rest was utter shh. manufactured talentless mongs, in it for fame and money.

im listening to a variety of stuff at the mo, quite open minded and do like a good acoustic song with proper instruments, some of the stuff on radio 1 atm is crap even for me, i just cant find a way to like it!

Gotye's album has been a recent worthy purchase, something different and a very fresh.

Also in the same playlist ive got Rizzle Kicks! Their album has some good tracks and they are two talented lads.

i do agree with robs statement on the over engineered crap that seems to haunt the radio now
