OK, fair enough!

I think that it would be fair enough to say that in order to evolve past the self destructive tendencies that have characterised our species thus far, we need to leave behind divisive and tribal behaviours and rituals, such as religion. Until we do this, we are always going to see difference and default to sectarianism and hatred.

There are, I'm told, truths in all the world religions that without manipulation or misinterpretation give fine guidance to anyone.

It is the divisive misuse of religion by men that causes religion to turn bad.

Many of those responsible are strongly selfdetermininst capitalists and worshipers of greed.

We are blindly puppets.

I dont believe in father christmas,or the tooth fairies, so why should i believe in god or heaven, never seen god nor do i know anyone who has, never been to heaven or know anyone who has. Total respect to religious folk 99% of them are respectful upright citizens.

i'm not religious and never have been... but when my little boy was born at only 28 weeks, nearly 12 weeks premature... and weighing 2lb 12oz's.. and being told he prob wouldnt last the night, i can tell you i believed in god that night... and me and my partner both took comfort in the priest sayin a prayer for him.. several prayers were said [in my head] over the next hours, days, weeks... and whether they were answered or not i dont no.. all i no is my boy is still with us 9 months later and he's not 100% but he's getting there...
Good luck mate, things will be good, I,l say a prayer to :thumbup1:

I don't think matt was interested in starting any debates ect but simply interested to see if there was any more Christians on at talk. In the same way that one might ask for example " anymore bikers on arbtalk"........now I not trying to cause friction but perhaps you should re read the original post:thumbup:
