Husqvarna 560xp any good?

Matty how does it heft against a 440? 18".

It's not in that class mate but it feels very close ... In hard wood over 20" imo you will always feel happier with a 70cc saw especially ringing up.

Design wise, Husqvarna have thrown away the rules book on this saw, one major departure from convention is that the transfer ports are at the front of the cylinder rather than the sides, makes a bit of sense as the fuel vapour will be thrown forward by the movement of the crank straight in to the transfers.

 

The crank lobes have stuffers to reduce the volumetric capacity of the crankcase to increase the velocity of the transfer ports, similar to the 357XP.

 

The cylinder combustion chamber is machine turned and not cast, the carb has some fancy air inlets and the piston has some interesting cut aways, a bit like the Stihl Strato engines.

 

In short, it looks like Husqvarna have gone to town on the design front, early signs are favourable with the only problem I am seeing is the autotune if it goes tits up but briefly played with Mattys saw and it is impressive.

i always go for my 560 over the441 unless the wood is stupid big,really doesnt feel like much difference in grunt

just bought a 560 on 3/8 chain 68 link 18" bar. used it all day felling big stuff and it is superb....love it to bits its just awesome, best decision i made to buy one!

I tried a mates one today; it was running crap semi-chisel but did eat the timber. However, I was quite dissapointed with the vibration; seemed real bad when leaning on the saw a little ???

yeah i have found this, due to very small bendy vibration mounts i think, also i got a twig stuck in underneath when the mounts were stressed and it trapped it causing loads of vibation so had to bend the saw and pull it out. the only thing that could be improved is the mounts i think. wel they have been breaking since the adding of the strap at the rear to prevent excess movement so they are soft.
