201t don't believe the negative hype!!

from reading this thread it seems to me that the dealers could possibly not be setting the saws up prior to handing them to the users.

the few main dealers mentioned on here havnt seemed to have many returned!

Things a stihl dealer will never say

"You dont have to buy the assembly, you can just buy that part."

"Oh that part costs less than the postage"

"Oh yeah these are way overpriced"

"I wouldnt pay that if I were you either"

"Oh we have had lots of these back and we dont know how to fix them quite right, I dont think you should buy one until its sorted"

"Oh yeah, stihl is totally ripping off its customers outside the US"

"We wasted alot of your money on time and parts you didnt need"

"yeah these saws are substandard"

Love mine, feels nice to use and handle, doesnt use much fuel, just get used to how it wants to work, rev before the cut, let it warm up in morning...

Great saw, low vibes.

I still think they're pants compared with the 200. Now out of interest I did use a 200 the other day that was knackered, the 201 would have been performing a lot better than that. I wonder if that accounts for some people loving them. The other thing without naming names is that Im not convinced saws are being sent back to dealers. I sub to a company that has now got all 201Ts and they've come from one of the dealers that has said he hasn't had any problems. Well in fairness to him he doesnt know about the problems with these saws.

Just my tuppence worth

Worth putting a 12inch bar on instead of a 14 and the full chisel chain, although that does tend to knacker trousers more easily.

I use one everyday at work and its not bad. Once u get used to getting the revs up its a decent wee saw especially on small stuff. There doesn't seem to be hardly any exhaust fumes either.

We have one , its total pants . We have 3x 200s and they get used first . There is no comparison . Just how it is with ours .

The one I use got sent back twice when we first got it but is alright now

Oh well, no real choice is there? Husky don't seem to fancy it, Echo are ok for light pruning but dismantling.....
