I have managed to break 3 screens and a speaker on my Nokia N95 and now it’s thrown a proper wobbly and wont switch on at all.

Have I been unlucky (clumsy) with this phone or is it just not suitable for the type of work?

Time to change perhaps? Any suggestions?

Andy

I have broken too many decent phones now by either getting is soaking wet or smacked against a limb in my pocket for that reason I just buy cheap 25 quid phones now. Years ago I had one of those rubber builders phones but they were basic not sure if there is a new rubber coated phone that is more advanced.

A friend of mine has the "Samsung solid" similar to the old rubber nokias but with more modern features. Tested on the gadget show and was considerably better than the JCB phone designed for builders. Not to expensive either about £70.

I've had no real problems with my N95, apart from the software regularly crashing.

Its stood up pretty well to my abusive ownership, as its about my 40th phone so far. They just seem to disintegrate under the pressure most of the time...

The best I've ever had was a siemens phone built for mountain bikers and canoeists. That had a rubber and steel case, and was unbelievably tough, even withstanding getting tracked over by a 13 tonne excavator.

The battery completly died on it in the end, and siemens had stopped making them.

My Sony Cybershot is ready at the store after being reprogrammed and given a stern talking to, it's never been that clever from day one, software crashing, freezing, turning its self off, alarm only going off when the phone is switched off and complete failure of the PC software.

Good camera though.
