Only problem with the hayauchi is the lopping head, you pull on the string , cut the branch and the thing jams so you have to shake it.

Bought a brand new head at the apf and that does the same, they haven't sorted the problem.

Dean, that lopping attachment the 'Sintung' is not made by Silky Japan, it was produced/manufactured by Silky Fox the UK distributor. Apparently they approached Silky Japan about producing a Lopping head for the Hayauchi and Silky Japan said they had no experience of that type of mechanism or technology and refused to go ahead with it. Silky Fox then manufactured the 'Sintung' and are selling it under the Silky banner.

I also bought one that wont return to open position, its a basic design fault, guess thats what happens when you dont know the technology or mechanics of the product.

I'd like to see a decent lopper attachment for the Hayauchi like the Jameson lopper.

I have the AuS poles still, to remind me what real work is, I have a telescopic Bahco, which is utter rubbish, and the one i rate the best (value for money/works well) is the Wolftools polesaw and adjustable lopper attachment. The beauty of Wolf tools is that if you need any bits you can call into any garden centre in the UK and you're back in action.

Yes agreed i use the wolf garten 4m which is ok for most things, not as robust as some, but the lopper head is really good. A snip at 50 quid (the local garden centre sale)
