Conservation area info please

I'm with littletree, ring up planing dept and give postcode of the location, I do this quite alot, especially as the lake district national park authority have changed the conservation areas in Windermere recently. I have done work at a house for a number of years without issue, then in October the street got letters saying they were now inside the boundary of the conservation area. Allways best to check:)

I think you are confusing "English Heritage", with "Natural England" and "National Parks" with "Conservation Areas".

Natural England are the 'new' English Nature', as was.

 

I reckon yer's r confusing Conservation Areas, which are administered by the LPA (Local Planning Authority), with SSSI (Sites Special Scientific Interest) which are admin'd by Natural England.

One small tiny little piece of info, you do not need to use their forms, they will tell you that you should, which is simply for their convenience.

Oh would these be the forms they are asking me to fill in showing where the tree are located in relation to the property address etc ?and the info of what is to be done etc I posted two of those out yesterday as two of the jobs I have booked in for June are in two seperate conservation area's.The forms had a checklist that requested 3 copies plus orginal forms with diagram seemed like a lot of paperwork I was going to ask when I spoke to them next is it really neccassary for the copies?, I have another tree surgeon local to me coming out next week I was gonna ask him what he does with them as he deals with the same LA .I came across all the c.a area maps online after I done a search they only sent me the one covering my local area :001_rolleyes:but its better to be aware of what areas your in and do things properly thanks for the advice:thumbup1:

I think not, some tree officers use the forms to lend 211 notifications a gravitas they don't have.

 

I have seen many examples where the TO has used the punters lack of knowledge to talk them into what the TO wants rather than what the tree owner wanted.

Can anyone confirm my understanding of CAs which, I'm sure, applied when I was last in college?

 

 

If one applies to do work on a tree within a CA then the LPA can not dictate what you can or can't do to that tree without putting a TPO on it. eg You apply to 'prune' which could range from pollard to a light reduction then they can't specify any works. They either allow works or TPO the tree. You are then free to carry out any works to the tree.
