has any body got any details of an insurance company that will insure a chipper on the towing vehicle insurance, (for theft) i have insurance for my 3.5t tipper but they wont cover the chipper whilst its connected on the truck, there looking at doing it next year but not now.

I'd give the NFU a buzz. My insaurance policy covers any trailer fully comp up to 1500 quid while attached to truck, and they'll happily insure a chipper as a specified trailer of higher value.

equity red star will cover anything connected to the truck including tools inside, also try e van insurance they also offer a similar cover

Spot on! My chipper is insured for £5000 with N.F.U as a trailer for eighty eight pounds a year. Attached to the truck, stolen from my house, or what ever.

NFU cover both my vehicles and any chipper / trailer and contents under a traders policy, also covers any driver fo both vehicles fully comp, have not had any claims and that is always the tester of a good company but NFU were the best I could find.

ictrees, the nearest nfu office for us is at tadcaster, the agent is called tony bowey and the number is 01937 833746. They were great when i got done over in march, got authorisation to get new kit the next day!!

I'm not sure if they offer insurance for trailers but they will quote online so its worth a try -http://www.onevan-uk.com

I found them very helpful and it was a competitive quote.
