Hole in ?ash?

Question

His guys,

 

I hope someone can tell what these holes are in what i think is an ash stool.

 

They appear in the two stems on this stool and on another three a bit further up the hedge line.

 

Im a bit concerned as there is a very priductive stool next to it so wouldnt want anything spreading to that one.

Its Ash Canker. Not much you can do to stop the spread as it is bacterial.

 

So is there no point in felling the affected trees to try & prevent spread to other healthy trees?

 

I have some very badly stunted trees some midly affected trees & some 100 percent healthy trees all close together, but it sees to have got alot worse in the last few years :confused1:

 

One tree looks so badly diseased that I reckon it might die from it.

 

Also my coppiced willow have canker also :thumbdown:
