Just a quick one. Does any one know what I should do as I think I've written of my truck but I want keep my plate as it was a present. Any ideas what I do to keep it? Cheers in advance guys

You need to transfer it to another vehicle or a retention certificate, this needs doing before the MOT runs out, as without an MOT on the vehicle you cannot transfer the number.

Not sure of the rules now but a few years ago you had to put it on retention which will cost £25, then in a year another £25 until you transfer it then it will cost £80 ish.

same as mine mate apart from mine is L17 OGS :)

Yeah, I just checked DVLC website the other day and there are still quite a few L xx OGS plates available, including L88 OGS. When I've made my log fortune (ha,ha) I will buy another Defender 90 (had them for 20 years before the Ranger) and put my present plate on (L90 OGS) and buy a restored Series 3 and put L88 OGS on that - the complete Land Rover log delivery fleet!!!
