Maybe thats why you suffer repeatedly.

 

Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong, numbing the pain with chemicals and carrying on is bound to make things worse.

 

being self employed as im sure you know makes it hard to have time off

You could be right there, I almost never use painkillers, as I dont find they do anything for me.

Anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen) are supposed to be better all round.

 

Wait till youre late forties,you,ll take em then. Ive had golfers elbow for a year, tennis elbow three years ago just from using a 200t one handed. A lot of right shoulder and lower back injuries.
