Quitting coffee.

I don't drink coffee, never have, however there was an interesting article on the radio the other day, apparently the levels of caffeine in some coffees vary enormously, some coffee house ones can contain over your recommended daily limit in one cup. You could try googling it...

Did you take much sugar with the coffee also? Headaches and blurred vision and feeling sick are common.

I often drink Banana/Mango now in working hours to keep fluid levels high and Tomato soup instead when cold weather.

Then have a malt drink in the evenings which helps relax. (non booze malt before someone laughs)

If I give up I will have to sell 3 gaggias and 3 senseos. Think of the ebay fees I am getting a headache thinking about it. I came off a flight from a weeks holiday in the summer and had blinding headaches rang nhs helpline and they kept me on the line and an ambulance showed up. I talked them out of taking me in and agreed to see my doctor in the morning. Doctor asked did you drink much coffee on holiday no not a drop I replied. Do you normally ' o yes I like my expresso at home' was told to go home and have some strong coffee and not to go cold turkey again :blushing:

Well I'm feeling really well now, so yesterday I decided I'd have a coffee in the evening, I had one mouth full and then threw the rest away, I just didn't enjoy it.

So it looks like my coffee drinking days are over, its really weird a week ago I could not have imagined my life without regular cups of coffee and know I just don't want it:confused1:

Just drinking lots of cordial or tea.

I used to drink six or seven cafe bought cups a day (large) when I was on the road. When I went back to climbing I started drinking tea and the first two weeks of no coffee left me with headaches and a feeling of having mushy peas for brains. After a week or two it started to subside but now I find the opposite. I limit myself usually to one coffee a day but if I have a second I start to get that fuzzy head feeling again followed by the headache.

So the real question not answered with this thread was, has you Blood pressure returned to normal?. When was the last time you had a complete physical?. Could be more than Coffee causing your higher Blood pressure, although getting off the bean could be a step in the right direction.
