strange how it works for some and not others

I think for established companies that work local, and already have a good reputation then the yp is a waste of time, if you are a city person and want to travel about a fair bit, where people may be slightly more anonymous then the internet and yellow pages are the one.:001_smile:

When ever I could be bothered/remember to ask new customers they nearly always said YP. We did advertise with thompson local but not any more and we have a yell and a web page.

Tis strange on how it works in some areas and not others, all the lads I speak to advertise in YP and wouldnt stop.

I don't have a website, but I am starting to think I should have one.

What should I expect to have to pay to get one up and running?

Skyhuck, I had a good friend do my website for next to nothing. Lets say, most companies will charge you 100quid for a simple one page site and over 300quid for anything more. Mine cost 40quid!!! Web design is his life so I can have a word with him if you want. You'd have to buy a domain name but he'll do the rest. Ooops sorry, off thread a little. http://www.grassandgrounds.co.uk

TCD, thats a nicely laid out and to the point website you've got. Particularly like the fact you don't embroider everything, you're not from yorkshire are you?:001_tongue:

You reckon?! I think there's some cheesyness in it that could be streamlined. Nope, not from Yorkshire, Cornwall! Buddy who did it is a Dundonian living in Glasgow...

Liverpool, we are in the merseyside one, with just under 4 pages.

Last year we had a call from a big contractor who got our ad from the YP, won the work and have got at least 60K+ from them over the last 18 months :001_smile: hoping(or is that praying the way things are going) that will can get the same from them this year.

Youve got to be in it to win it! :001_smile:

That one job alone will pay for the ad for the next 20 years if you look at it that way.

Its not an awful lot of money to spend and you never know what will come of it.
