I've used an 880 with a 4' up a tree once, and I struggled. It kept biting on the horizontals because of the bend. I've since learnt I would have been better starting the cuts with a smaller saw.

These days if I have to stick the 3' on the 660 I get a hot flush.

That Lombardy the other week was a beast Reg, never saw the base but that knuckle would have taken some cross-cutting.

Not really found the 880 wanders in the cut but mine mainly lives in the mill and I never look forward to taking it out as it's such a pain changing chains on a big bar.....

Never used the 3120 but mainly because I've only ever heard bad things about them.... would like a go on one maybe one day just to compare.....

HI all thanks for that but do you all think its better with a 3ft bar on it for large oak and beech i do 660 but thinking of a 880 jon

Recon the 3ft is better my self, seems more balanced quicker to sharpen and on real big oak and beech you still have to double cut even with a 42 and Like said above Its time consuming to try and get a 4ft to cut level and acurate...I find you can fly around with the 3ft and letter box the gob if it's still not long enough, If your just falling stick with the 66 maybe not if your ringing up the butts as well!
